Youth DT continues - - DT Contact: Krystal Westbrook. She, Lisa Atkinson and Billy Gifford are facilitating the "Answers in Genesis" series by Ken Ham. DT is now broken out in two groups- Middle and High School classes. [Parents are encouraged to attend as well if they like J ] Watch for updates related to "holiday" changes and the Winter Semester offerings.

Youth on Mission - - YOM Contact: Lisa Thompson. The Youth are doing something different this year for their contribution for the Fall Festival! Everyone is very excited about the youth hosting the "Trail of Faith" and other ways they will be helping with this community outreach event.

Watch for details coming soon for the YOM winter and Christmas projects! [Matt 25:35-37 NIV: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' ]

Youth ¯ Music ¯ Ministry Update! - - Contact: Gene Burrus. All 6 -12th graders are invited to participate with the youth ‘choir’- Christ Amplifier’s. They meet each Sunday at 4pm. Enrollment is now at 27 and counting! Praise the Lord! …there’s plenty room for more!

Youth Praise Band has formed and is meeting immediately after Sunday Night Worship each week. There is still plenty of room for additional instrumentalists . . any that want to participate are welcome to come on board. Gene especially still needs drummer(s) and base guitarists.

Youth Christmas Program: Contact: Wesley Loveday. This year’s program will be presented Sunday, December 2 at 7pm- - - It will involve skits / drama, Youth Choir, interpretive movement, instrumentalists, Dance and more! PRACTICE AND PREP IS STARTING NOW- and is each Sunday immediately following 2nd SS hour. Lunch will be provided, be sure to bring comfortable clothes to change into. PLEASE NOTE- - practice begins after the 2nd SS hour - not after the worship service; meet in the youth building to begin. If you are staying after Am Worship Service for practice, you should plan to attend the 11am SS hour. Youth should not plan to "just hangout" during the 11 to 12noon time period. Of course, you may go home and come back at noon if you prefer. Practice will go until 4:00 (when youth choir starts).

Christmas Progressive Dinner & Crazy Gift Exchange: Sat, Dec 8th

Activity Contact: Wanda Gooding. We will be looking for several homes to visit and "eat our way" along the way to the final destination for the "Crazy Gift Exchange". Parents, if you would like to volunteer your home and/or help for this event please contact Wanda Gooding. BEWARE - - This year’s gift exchange will have a little bit different "twist" to it . . . Mark your calendars and invite your friends now!

Summer ’08 World Changer’s Mission Trip

Date Info: Actual Trip: June 21 – 28th Initial Deposit Due: Dec 9th, 2007

This year’s World Changer Mission Week will be in Huntington, West VA. The total cost is $260.00 each. Just like last year, Wesley is asking the deposit of $130 be paid by 12/9. (This secures/commits your "spot") We will fundraise for the remaining balance. So, in other words, you put $130 down, and we fundraise for $130. This seemed to work well last year. The early due date is meant to give us solid numbers on which to plan the trip and help you have money issues behind you early on. It is not meant to be a deterrent, if the amount or timing is an issue, be sure to contact Wesley in person BEFORE 12/9, so help or alternative arrangements can be made. Don’t let the money be the reason you do not commit to go . . . Of course more information will be coming later on, but this will get us on track for what needs our immediate attention.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW- - - so you can plan to attend & schedule other activities around these Upcoming Youth Events. . .

è Lock-In at AFFC being planned following Winter Exams!

è StudentLife Tour / Conference this year is planned for March in Charlotte, NC. Further details will be provided soon.

è The Date and Place for the August ‘08 Back to School Retreat has been set! Dates: Aug 22 -24 (Fri–Sat) Location: Camp Dixie in NC (Camp Awanita was awesome, but general consensus - - too far a drive for a weekend)
